Bonnie Picking is the Nursery/Preschool Director for TOL. She has been working with children since the early seventies and finds that her favorite group is the ones who have such a hunger to learn. She feels that because Jesus loves little ones so much, it is our privilege and responsibility at church to share His love to even the smallest of our TOL members. Children are always learning, so we teach them that the Bible is God’s Word. We remind them that it tells us all about Jesus and about how to live in a way that makes Jesus happy. Time is spent singing Bible songs and ages 18 months and older also experience a Bible story and craft activity. Our inspiration comes from Isaiah 28:10 which tells us HOW to best teach the little ones: “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little.”
God made them with wiggles so it is our job to cooperate with God’s design and discover how to teach them in the best way possible to enhance their learning experience. Our joy in the TOL nursery is to see a small child responding to the loving care and happy experiences they receive. Our teachers working with these age groups are here because their heart is in it, and each is background checked for our security and your peace of mind.
